My hair is naturally wavy but when I blow dry it becomes straight.

The straightner you have may be the problem. If your parents let you, try to get a better hair iron. Chi for example would be a good straightener to get. Use anti frizz serums and heat protectant sprays. Always be patient and go slow when sliding the straightener through your hair. It never works well even with a good straightener to slide down too fast. As for scrunching your hair, you should get a scrunching mousse and right after you wash your hair, you should scruch your hair with a towel and then you could get a golf ball sized amount of mousse then put it in your hair, more at the tips, put your head down so that all of your hair is hanging down and just scrunch my pressing on them with your hands.

It may be your straighteners are not the best tupe. I have used various and it was only in getting some GHD ceramic straighteners that I was able to get pin straight hair.
You will be amazed, because the ceramic gets hotter it just glides through hair and makes it way straighter than other straighteners.
If you already use GHDs, then I am not sure..
It sounds to me that you have 2 possible goals regarding your hair. The first is to achieve less "frizzy" hair and the second is a daily regimen which is easier than using a straightening iron daily.
Well, lets look at the extremes. The lesser degree is to learn to love your hair using a "flexible mousse" applied to wet hair and allowed to dry naturally. Alfaparf's Diamante mousse will work perfectly. The mousse isn't real expensive either. The mousse "bundles" 20 or more hairs together into clumps giving a more controlled curl/wave look to natural hair. This is the easiest and you would be amazed to know that many people pay hard earned dollars to get what you have naturally!!! The other extreme is a little known seldom done process outside Hollywood which is called the Japanese straightener. It will make your hair "pin straight" permanently! It involves a chemical relaxer and the ionic flat iron to achieve a "pin straight" effect. It is very expensive and takes about 4 hours to achieve. Once done, the hair can naturally dry from wet to a pin straight condition! That's right, no more ironing. Of course the hair will eventually grow out and be cut off bringing you back to that service again if you really like being "pin straight" all the time.
Somewhere in the middle is a care regimen that is priced more so to the every day process. It is not pin straight but it is not frizzy either! It involves using a very good moisturizing shampoo followed with a intensive deep conditioner pack. Alfaparf products have them in their Seduction line. Using these products as a daily routine and allowing the hair to "size" by drying naturally for the first 10 to 15 minutes is vital to success. If you are not too shy to put on a toboggan in that time frame, you can use the heat of your scalp and the pressure of the cap to assist in straightening out the frizz but not completely losing the hairs body. Once the hair is dry, you can run your fingers throught it to break it up and give a more tussled look to it. Keep in mind that your hairs frizziness will be more manageable with constant deep conditioning which builds up on the hair and helps to weigh it down enough so that it isn't explosively wild. You can adjust the conditioning routine when you achieve the "look" that you like best. Remember that naturally frizzy hair is very porous. If you use the cap and conditioner approach, then be sure to add mousse sparingly to the ends AFTER the hair is dry to ward off atmospheric moisture that can attack that new smoother look and make it begin to frizz again. If your hairline tends to frizz more than you like, use a tad of the mousse on the wet hairline on the scalp and roots. I hope this helped!

usually, shampoos which have a strong fragrant smell are not good for the hair. sunsilk has a strong fragrance, but pantene has a mild one. so, i would suggest that u go 4 pantene.
but, take ur beautician's advice b4 using pantene. it is a strong shampoo, its chemicals can make ur hair dry! still, it is better than sunsilk.

Get wash and curl. The have it at Wal Mart. It makes your hair hold curl. You just wash your hair with it then when your hair dries you can curl it and the curl actually stays.

I have the same dead straight hair, but I've learned to appreciate it over the years. I used to get perms, curl all the time, etc....now I just accept the fact that it is how it is - and I concentrate on keeping it healthy. Healthy straight hair looks GREAT. Occasionally, I will put curlers in for a big night out. I use Bumble and Bumble thickening spray and it works very well, then put hot rollers in for a few minutes to give it that Bridgett Bardot look.
try the fruitier(green bottle) in walmart, etc
they help my hair.......and buy and brush(around brittle) and stringent it with the hair dryer
and leave in conditioner will help(green bottle)

I'm in show chior and for our performances we have to curl our hair and then put half up. The past two times it just turns out stringy looking or straight. I have straight hair it has to stay curled for atleast 3 hours! I need details on how to get it curled and keep it that way. When I say details I mean everything from the shampo to use to how long to keep the curlers in.

Some straight hair is tough to get to hold a curl. If you aren't interested in a perm or body wave, consider the old kind of rollers you put in your hair when wet, and then either sit under a hair dryer or leave the rollers in overnight (or longer) until your hair dries naturally. Some mousse beforehand will help the curl stay in...you may get curls that'll last until your next washing if you do it that way.
Curls from hot rollers or a curling iron sometimes don't work well with straight hair, and can "fall out" if the humidity is high.

Hey I an a hairstylist. First you need to shampoo your hair, then if you have some hard rod rollers use those if you don't go to the beauty supply store and buy some. Sit under a hot hair dryer until it dries, you have to use some moose of foam setting lotion so that it will curl aroung the rollers good. Once it dries take the rollers out ant pull the curls a loose. Get some firm holding hairspray, and spray your hair. Wala you have long lasting curls!!

Curly will be in. I have naturally curly hair as well and have been flat ironing for years (only in the cold winter months). My suggestion to you to get the curl back, use Pantene Curl Defining shampoo, conditioner, and the mousse. Then secure the curl with Manipulator from Tigi Bed Head. Put some of the manipulator in your palms, rub together, and then scrunch the hair. Another very good tip is that when you get out of the shower, DO NOT dry your hair with a towel. Curly hair needs the moisture, so I put on a robe and let the water soak into my robe for a few minutes before combing and applying product. Also, do not touch your hair while it is wet. That will cause it to frizz. Hope this helps, and good luck to you!
straight is pretty much still in, but i think sometimes you want it to stay curly for the sexy look. Aquage has a product that you can put in your hair that will loosen up curly hair to more of a wave or straight depends on how much time you want to spend on straighting it. just read the directions or go to aquage.com . So if your tired of the old way try that. Straighting altragel is the product. It washes out w/out any build up. Trust me it's great on your hair. I am a salon professional

There are certain shampoos thats straightens hair. Try Sunsilk, they have a different shampoo for every type of hair. They also have a Straightening one. Try it.
If it doesnt work, try shampoos with a strong conditioner, so your hair will be thicker and automatically straighter.

Thats funny that I also feel like Paul Mitchell straight sleek shampoo and conditioner. Also, I use Paul Mitchell hair straightener and I PROMISE this will work wonders. Either Paul Mitchell Flat Iron or CHI Flat Iron. Both of these straighteners will run you about $120 but they are the best invention EVER.

I have the same problem, or had it. When you curl it you must apply hairspray right after you curl it, I love Tresemme. And it's cheap. But make sure you do apply it from at least 12 inches away or else you'll well your style and it will droop. Also right after you curl it hold your curl up until it cools off. You can also try spraying hair spray on your hair before you curl and that works wonders. Also instead of just curling your hair to change it try some half-up half down styles, you really can change it up depending on how you arrange it.
Use a light hairspray after you finish curling it.
Also if you get layers cut in your hair it makes it a lot more interesting. You can do lots of stuff with them/
try using a really good hairspray like tresseme! its really good!
curl ur hair hot curling iron and CURL ACTIVATOR like Tre Semme. this is a must in ur case. after curling use any hair spray to hold the curls in place. dont wet ur hair with spray, keep the can some distance from ur curls. ENJOY

Ok, After you take your nightly shower, put styling mousse in your hair (Dove is the best) and braid fairly small braids in your hair. Then go to sleep. Then take the braids out in the morning and put some aussie hairspray on it, and it makes your hair wavy/curly!!! It lasts for a couple days.

Tget your hair straight get oil sheen and staighten it with a blow dryer and at night wrap it up at night with a scarf. if you want to be lighter i don't what to tell you there. be proud of what you are!

You can put straightening serum on it and then use a flat iron on it.
You can actually go and undo the perm! If you dont want to spend the money on that, pantene has a great mousse that you put on your hair right before you blow dry it.. i think it's called "Get it straght" my hair is also very wavy and it works everytime for me!!

a way to get it really straight (works with my hair anyway)is after you have a bath/shower and your hair is still wet borrow your mums hairdryer and blow dry your hair whilst you comb it down with a comb. Then use a straightner if you want (i dont the comb and hairdryer are usually enough)

Yah i see many gers opting for straighter hair too even if their face shape doesnt fit it. I am very happy with my naturally wavy hair. Not even one hair stylist can tempt me to straighten it.
I have curly hair and it is frizzy, dry and pretty much unmanageable in the Houston heat and humidity. But if I go to the trouble to straighten it (blow dry and iron), then it is frizz free, beautiful, and easy to brush %26amp; maintain. It also is longer (a plus) because it's not bounced up to my skull.
I leave it au naturel most of the time because straightening it is a lot of work, but am frankly much happier w/it straightened.

Lets's begin with the most basic of reasons: the grass is always greener on the other side. People always want what they don't have. If they have curly hair, they want straight, and vice versa. That's just the way it is.
Also, straight hair can be much easier to manage, and sometimes, easier to make look attractive. I have curly hair that can't be washed more than twice a week, and once I brush it, it's totally frizzy and messy and all of that stuff. But when it's straight, I can just brush and go. So, it may just be the convienience.
Still, i think Yuko and relaxing aren't good and that you should wear your own natural curls occasionally.

The Sunsilk Straighten Up 24/7 Cream (in the purple bottle) works really well. I've never tried the shampoo or conditioner from that line though.

first of all, to handle your "poof" use sunsilk (the blue kind).
if you dont want to heat style it or use styling products to straighten your hair, then just hold your hair in place with lots of clips and/or bobby pins after you get out of the shower when your hair is still wet. once its dry, take the clips out. if will be PERFECT. trust me i do this ALL the time and it works.

You can do a hair wrap! At any beauty supply store just get a hair wrap (like a scarf that goes really tight around your hair. you comb your hair all in one direction when it's wet and bobby pin it so it stays -- nice and straight. Make sure to use some kind of anti-frizz serum or smoothing serum in it. Then sleep on that and the next day you will have straight hair parted to the side. You WILL have to style it a little -- best with a flat iron the next day.
And use good shampoo and conditioner! NOTHING FROM A DRUGSTORE! Go to a salon and invest 20 or 30 bucks in good products. WELL WORTH IT. You also shouldnt wash your hair every day that will make frizz worse!
Do you use conditioner? If not that will help a ton! i would reccomend Aussie Moisture treatments ( shampoo and conditioners) I would also reccomend the 3 minute merical moisture treatment. they are purple bottles and im sure you can find them just about anywhere.
You don't want to use chemicals, so this might not be helpful. I use this product by Bed Head i think its call simply straight. (pink bottle) Its like a gel that you put on when your hair is wet then you blow dry your hair while brushing it down. I have really long hair and this works amazingly for me. Its not harsh at all and it only lasts untill you wash your hair. It is so much easier then my straight iron.
I dont think you can get it straight without heat.. cause i mean, usually ppls just use straightening irons . If your scared the heat would damage your hair, y not just use those heat protecter things before straightening your hair?

How about trying a new shampoo?? Try a shampoo that is specially for straight hair. After shampooing it with a straghtening shampoo, try a new shine or gel that will straighten your hair. If that doesn't work try a straightener. It might not be good for your hair growth though. See a beautician if my suggestions dont work out.

u can use coconut milk on ur hair for hairfall,fenugreek seeds soaked in water overnight grinded in fine paste mixed with curd is also good for hairfall and for straightened hair u can either straighten ur hair permanently(tat is for a max. period of six months) or u can straaighten it at home using straightenin machine.........

My hair is mid-back length and pin-straight. I'm am looking for a nice cut that gives it a bit more volume and compliments my round-to-oval face. Also, I would like to have longer bangs that can be pushed behind my ear if they get in the way, or none at all. Any suggestions?
it sounds like you have the same hair type that i have. the easiest way for me to fix my hair ( or have it cut) is to simply have my hair parted in the middle and then to have the stylist pull out however many bangs i think i want. ( meaning how thick i want them) then i have those bangs cut at about my jaw. this way i can still talk them in going into a french braid or half ponytail. i have had my hair layered several times and i haven't really been happy with the way the layers went up ( in a french braid, mainly) i have also found that for our hair type it is veeeery difficult to get any sort of body. don't let a stylist tell you any different. it takes me about thirty minuets just to get body in my hair. i wouldn't recommend going for a style that requires any body at all. sorry, but at least you have long hair. i'm waiting for mine to grow out :( i can't say that i'm patient enough for the journey either. although i have found that a pony tail can work wonders ( my face shape sounds just about like yours) good luck on finding a 'new do' that you like.also, i like to pull my bangs to one side. it aids a hint of mystery as they tend to fall over one eye. i always have a little more beauty confidence when my bangs are in a good mood,

Right after taking a bath, dry your hair. When it's just a bit damp, rub some setting product in the strands evenly. Hold all your hair up in a ponytail and then start twisting. Twist the whole bunch round and round until it starts curling up near your head. Let it curl around to form a twisted bun. Keep it that way with a hair tie or scrunchie. Sleep with your hair that way or keep it for at least 2 hours. When you're ready to let it down, blast it first with a hairdrier (still in a bun) until it's all hot. Wait for the hair to cool and then take off the hairtie. Comb the curls out. If it's too puffy, smooth down with a little hairwax.
Your hair will stay wavy until your next shower.

alright. first off, if you want shine buy a good hair serum.
work that through your hair, from the ENDS to the ROOTS. you do this whenever you are applying a shine product. now, separate your hair into three sections: the first one, a horse-shoe shaped section from your temples and the top of the back of the head. next, from the top of your ears all the way around. then your final section is ready for styling. first take the blow dryer and dry a little without the barrel brush, simply using your hands. then, taking the barrel brush and roll it so that the brush is under the hair. take a piece of hair and repeat until you are done iwth this section. then do the same with the middle section. the crown of your hair is the hardest, so blow dry so that the back of your hair is going back, and so on and so forth.
and that's the blow out :).
Try a conditioning cream before you blow dry. (They work better than serums) I personally like Sunsilk defrizz in the green bottle, but they have all kinds. That alone goes a long way. Also use an ionic hairdryer if you don't already as it actually improves shine. Then end with a shine mist (but only a very small amount if any, too much is bad).
Also they have hair, skin and nails vitamins anywhere vitamins are sold. You could take those and they actually do make your hair healthier and shinier.
i know what you mean. apply your products... and then wait until your hair is partially dry first and THEN blow dry. hold the blow dryer an inch or two away from the scalp to avoid burning. when the hair is almost dry use a diffuser on the end and brush downwards with a round brush and have the blowdryer follow it. after its all dry turn the cold air on and go over it... it helps achieve more shine. go over it with your straightening iron. good luck.

*wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner
*towel dry your hair(you get more split ends if you blow dry it)
*let the rest dry naturally
*then brush it through with a flat brush
*while you are brushing your hair turn the straighteners on, by the time you are finished they should be hot!
*now get a rounded brush
*put a small chunk of hair through the straighteners at the top by your scalp, and get the rounded brush an place under the straighteners
*brush and straighten the hair at the same time and it should be shiny, smooth ,slic and straight with about half an hours work

i got naturally wavy curls which is really unusual for an asian, and i need to straighten it up because it's really messy and getting in the way. is there some cream i can use to make it straight? i dont want to use stuff like hot irons or creams that you put on before you blow dry because those are really time-consuming.

you can have your hair chemically straightened at a hairdresser....like a perm but the opposite.....it lasts for about 3 months depending on how fast your hair grows.....i dont know of any cream that will totally straighten your hair
you really can't make your hair completely straight without blowdrying or straightening with an iron. if you want to go really far, there's treatments at salons which you can get your hair chemically straightened, but it costs a lot. i'd suggest remington wet2straight flat iron

Think of a perm but instead of putting it in curlers they just put the stuff in and comb it out straight. It works pretty good. I have it done and I have REALLY curly hair. Its like 125-150$ depending on where you go. That seems like a lot, but when you think about how much you spend on straightening products throughout the year getting it chemically straightened is the same or cheaper. Use one of the really expensive straighteners that gets really hot. Also use Pantene pro-V shampoo for smooth and sleek hair (or something like that). Pantene Pro-V has a straightening gel you can buy too. But I find the shampoo makes your hair look healthier.

invest in a large curling iron and curl your hair peice by peice....very small sections that way it will have more curls which means more volume. After every section you curl, hairspray it, I know that people with very straight hair have issues curling their hair and it falls out easy. Lots and lots of hairspray!

i know you want aj michaka straight hair but why don't you try using a round head brush and a blow dryer. i luv the results on my hair. just put the brush under your hair near the base of your scalp then blow dry make sure your hair is wet or it will just screw your hair up and make it frizzy. anyways just try it never hurts.
i have chi flat iron, the best way to use it is to set it to 200F and start straighting ur hair.. u need to wash ur hair and add a little hair conditioner so it wont become to oily, thn use the oil cream from the little bottel that was given with the chi flat iron it shines the hair.

You could use heat rollers of varying sizes. Smaller rollers for tighter curls, bigger rollers for large curls/waves/volume

It may. You may need a product to do that and make it last, though. Some sort of hair mousse that will give your hair more volume. The problem I usually have is that the iron does make my hair curly, but my hair doesn't hold the volume, so I think that with the help of a good product, you'll do just fine.

I know from experience that guys don't nessecarily look for curly or straight hair, if they find someone they think is 'hot' its not really due to what kind of hair they have, different looks differ from girl to girl.
But I [having straight as hair] prefer having curly, but if you have a chubbyish face keep to straight if you have a thin face you can have both because both will frame your face.

I had pin straight hair. And then I got layers. Layers give it a bit of wave at the tips, kinda curves it inwards. I'd recommend that if you want it not sooo straight but still straight :)
you could try a body wave perm. two of my friends have it and it looks really cute and natural.

It will "PERManently" change the texture of your hair. Perms don't have to mean you end up all curly and poodle-esque, but you can get perms that put a light curl or body into your hair.
Otherwise, you can't really train hair. It doesn't listen.
Hey. I have thick thick straight hair. I got a perm aorund 3 yrs ago and now sometimes when i wash my hair it goes a bit wavy but then wen i brush through it, it becomes straight. I want controlled waves like Kate Beckinsale. But remember I have REALLY thick hair!!! I have a curling Iron and I can buy special gel. I dont want a perm or mousse. What gel can you suggest or method to make my hair wavy (not messy). Go Curly gel?? Or is that for naturally curly hair? help!
go curly gel is good. but what i would do is make large ringlets all over your head then hairspray them, then using your fingers, separate them. add go curly and mess them up ( doesnt make them look messy) simple, easy and looks hot!

for the kate do you would ultimately have to get it perminently straightened and see ..when you wash it you brush it while wet and leave it be when its dry ..90% of thick or curly haired people get straight poofy hair by brushing it while dry..or blow drying it.
my hair is like totally straight,nd of course i wanna style it curls since im used to having it straight. well i only hvae a curling iron or hot rollers. but i liek how curling iron looks. but how can i make it last the WHOLE ENTIRE DAY. like if i do it at school how would i make it last like that long. without buying all those espensive crap. like if i use a iron. any kind a special hairspray?? cuz when im curling it put lots of hairspray nd it dont work!!! it only lasts for like 2-3 hrs. ergg it gets me mad nd i really really want someone to help me out. idk cuz i use like maxium hold or hard to hold styling hairspray nd it dont last how long i want it to!! plz help mee on what i need to do.=]=] thnkss.=]
i also have extremely straight hair and i use hot rollers. I set them in for 30 minutes (the time spand depends on the length of your hair) then take them out. I finish it with "bed head massive shine hairspray." Just a quick spray all over keeps the curls in tact all day long. if you use too much hairspray, the wait of the spray will pull out the curls (that may be your problem). ive tried a few methods to make it wavy but it always goes back to being straight, so do u think a mousse would help?

i recommend redkin spray curling gel. it works sooooooooooooooo good!!! way better than mousse.
A curl enhancing mousse might help. TO make it work better, you should get a diffuser for your blowdryer, and use that to "scrunch" your hair. (Don't use your hands). then when it's 80% dry, spritz it with a firm hold hairspray and Voila!
If your hair is naturally straight, you're not going to get it to just change to curly. The curling comes from the hair folicle. If you have some natural curl in your hair, then the curl-enhancing products will help, but only if you already have a bit of curl.
It can help if you have any type of wavyness to your hair. When your hair is towel dry try putting some in and scrunch it. Let it dry natrually. I let mine dry when I go to bed. When I wake up it is wavy. Just DON'T put too much in.
if you blow dry it and scrunch your hair together and then but the moose in it will make it more wavy trust me my mom does stuff for a living.

here is a good tip on making your hair wavy.
my girlfriend does it all the time.
wash your hair.
then plat it tightly or get some one to do it for you( while it is still wet )
leave it in for a few hours or aslong as you can ( over night is best.)
when you take out the plats it will have dryed and you hair will be wavy.
