How do I style my straight hair?

I can get straight hair from blow drying it and straightening it but it just doesn't look shiny and silky like when I got back from the salon a week ago. I have all the right products. I have a flat iron spray and a volumizer but I just don't know how to handle the blow dryer and all of that. Please give me detailed instructions and I will give you ten points!!!

alright. first off, if you want shine buy a good hair serum.

work that through your hair, from the ENDS to the ROOTS. you do this whenever you are applying a shine product. now, separate your hair into three sections: the first one, a horse-shoe shaped section from your temples and the top of the back of the head. next, from the top of your ears all the way around. then your final section is ready for styling. first take the blow dryer and dry a little without the barrel brush, simply using your hands. then, taking the barrel brush and roll it so that the brush is under the hair. take a piece of hair and repeat until you are done iwth this section. then do the same with the middle section. the crown of your hair is the hardest, so blow dry so that the back of your hair is going back, and so on and so forth.

Try a conditioning cream before you blow dry. (They work better than serums) I personally like Sunsilk defrizz in the green bottle, but they have all kinds. That alone goes a long way. Also use an ionic hairdryer if you don't already as it actually improves shine. Then end with a shine mist (but only a very small amount if any, too much is bad).

Also they have hair, skin and nails vitamins anywhere vitamins are sold. You could take those and they actually do make your hair healthier and shinier.

i know what you mean. apply your products... and then wait until your hair is partially dry first and THEN blow dry. hold the blow dryer an inch or two away from the scalp to avoid burning. when the hair is almost dry use a diffuser on the end and brush downwards with a round brush and have the blowdryer follow it. after its all dry turn the cold air on and go over it... it helps achieve more shine. go over it with your straightening iron. good luck.

*wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner

*towel dry your hair(you get more split ends if you blow dry it)

*let the rest dry naturally

*then brush it through with a flat brush

*while you are brushing your hair turn the straighteners on, by the time you are finished they should be hot!

*now get a rounded brush

*put a small chunk of hair through the straighteners at the top by your scalp, and get the rounded brush an place under the straighteners

*brush and straighten the hair at the same time and it should be shiny, smooth ,slic and straight with about half an hours work
