I already use a Chi ceramic iron and some product but I can't get my hair as straight as I would like. Any suggestions to technique?
How do I get SUPER STRAIGHT hair? I have really wavy and thick hair. I use a ceramic iron and I put a little bit of hair spray through my hair, not much, then I section my hair into 4 parts. 2 on each side in the front and 2 on each side in the back. I use a close tooth comb with a metal point on one end and start in the back lower part of my hair. Make about 1/4 - 1/2 row at the bottom hair line and pin hair back up in that section. Then comb from top to bottom making sure there are no tangles then comb again this time tightly about half way and hold tight while you put the iron on your hair and move slowly down the hair. Comb through and repeat once. Then proceed with the rest of the hair. KEY POINTS: 1. use small rows 2. close tooth comb to make sure there are no waves or tangles in the hair 3. repeat 4. air out the heat when done 5. I use a glossing polish when done to give back my shine (very little bit though)
How do I get SUPER STRAIGHT hair? You can always get your hair "permed" straight... when you use your chi make sure you are clamping tightly at the bottom and especially spend time pressing the iron on the ends and sliding them down slowly

I have very curly hair and mine straightens stick straight. also use a protectant spray to keep from burning or overdrying your hair. Its very damaging. Pay close attention to roots (which hold more moisture when wet) and ends so they straighten seamlessly. straighten in sections so you dont miss any hair then end up with waves!

That's what I do and it leaves it super straight OR you might want to try the Frederic Fekkair Glossing Cream (my sister uses it and loves it). It seems that if we have straight hair, we want curly. If we have curly, we want it straight. Growing up in the seventies, we did everything we could to straighten our hair, even if it meant using the iron! Today, I am presenting you with an easier way to straighten your curls.
* Wash and condition hair.
* Blot dry. Hair should be almost dry when you begin.
* Gather up hair into several sections and secure or clip hair on top of your head. You will be drying the bottom layers first.
* Follow the brush (with your dryer) down the sections of hair as you straighten each section and be sure to keep the dryer moving.
* Take down a new section of hair and proceed as directed above.
* Work your way up the layers until all sections are dry and straightened.
* To curl the ends for a polished look, take your brush and pull the ends under. Finish your styling with a blast of cool air if your hairdryer has this capability.

Have you ever wanted to make your hair pin straight? If so, this is the page for you!
1. Take a shower using any shampoo and conditioner.
2. Wrap your wet hair in a towel for five minutes.
3. After five minutes take the towel off and comb your hair using a detangling (or wide-tooth) comb.
4. Apply straightening balm. Make sure to cover all areas of your hair.
5. Comb your hair every 30 minutes until dry.
6. Straighten your hair section by section using a flat iron.

I have wavy/curly hair that I like to wear pin straight sometimes as well, and I never could get it quite straight enough until Herbal Essences came out with their new line. I tried their moisture line, Hello Hydration, and it didn't work as well as I would've liked. I wore my hair straight for several months in a row, however, and I used their Dangerously Straight line with fantastic results. I would never want to try another line to get straight hair, because t left my hair healthy and shiny. The products are also really inexpensive, the cheapest I've ever tried, with the best quality. First I used their Dangerously Straight shampoo and conditioner (I used a seperate heavy-duty conditioning mask once a week), and then I would not dry my hair at all, but comb it through with a wide-toothed comb. I would then run their Dangerously Straight Pin Straight Mousse through my hair, and comb it through with the same comb, after which I would apply the Frizz Ease (John Frieda) serum (it gets rid of fly-aways and makes your hair extra healthy and shiny) and comb it through. Then I use a straight diffuser on my hair dryer, and with a medium sized round soft bristle brush (a paddle brush would be best, but I don't have one) I give myself my own blow-out. If you don't have the patience to do it until it's bone dry, you can just do it until it's barely damp and let the rest dry by itself. When it's completely dry, I spray it with the Dangerously Straight Flat Out Finishing Spray, and I then go over it with the hair straightener (and comb it again before and after). After it's completely done I spray it again with the finishing spray, and it's the straightest and shiniest it's ever been. It sounds like quite a bit, but it's actually very cheap and very easy. I suggest only showering ever two or three days (your hair that is, you can wear a shower cap and just wash your body) and every morning comb your hair, use your straightener, and finish with the finishing spray for your longest lasting possible straight hair.
