I have really straight hair, is it a good idea to perm it?

My hair is naturally straight, thier are no type of curls in it but I want curly hair,What do you suggest?

No! My father is a hair dresser and I have never, in all my years, seen a perm that has looked good for long. Please don't do it. That frizzy nastiness - yuck!

If you want curly hair try to do it yourself first. See if your hair will hold a wave if you braid it out of the shower and let it dry all the way through.

I put my hair in a bun on top of my head after a shower and / or before I sleep at night and it gives me nice big Breck curls that last if I hairspray it when i get up and do it. If you live alone you might want to try putting your hair in a few buns around your head or soft curlers before you go to sleep.

I would first try a body perm and see how it takes. I have super straight hair and when i get a perm it is hard for me to take care of between either frizzies or doesnt stay in long enough. I would ask a stylist what kind of perm would be best for your hair type and length.

A perm is NEVER a good idea. It will look tacky and never like natural curls~it also burns your hair. If your hair is straight, ask your stylist to show you some ways to curl your hair with a curling iron to get a more natural looking effect.

Well, first of all how easily does your hair hold curls if you use a curling iron or curlers? If it holds pretty good then you will do good with a perm. It's really a question of r you going to be up to taking care of it? it takes a bit of work. i recommend, trying it first. Get perm rods from Ne beauty supply store and put them in just don't put NE chemicals in. (do it with ur hair wet and leave it in for like 6 hours of dry it with a dryer.

From a person experienced in experimenting with hair, DON'T....I REPEAT....DO NOT PERM YOUR HAIR.....but if you must, try a loose curl, a body wave, but not a tight curl. Tight curls will make you look like some poodle jacked up on speed. AND DO NOT USE BRUSHES! ONLY USE PICKS or wide toothed combs when you have wet hair.

I would say no way...I used to have hair straight as a board, until I permed it 15 years ago. It must have triggered natural curl, and now it is a frizzy mess. I straighten mine now...which sucks! Better to keep it more natural. Getting it cut a new style will give it a new look without messing it all up.

wash your hair with shampoo and then apply non sticky hair oil on your wet hairs. Do not use comb which has less space between its teeths but use comb which has vast space between its teeth

what can it hurt? When they are done incorrectly they can damage hair. the bright side is it grows back.. I've seen what a perm can do to someone with thin straight hair when its NOT done right..

Use curlers in your hair to see if you like the look. Check w/ your favorite salon, they might have that computer program where they put your face in it %26amp; change your hairstyle so you can instantly see it. It's rather fun!

u perm u r hair....and loose half of it......it is not good for u r hair....i makes the hair loose its strength....maybe you can curl it temporarily.....please don't perm.ther are other options as well
