My hair's pretty straight. What's the easiest, and fastest way to get the messy/wavy surfer look. Preferably without using a curling iron or any other styling tool.
Sufer/Wavy hair for straight hair?
I read this tip in a magazine but I haven't tried it.
Before you shower, wrap thin sections of hair in velcro rollers. Then, wrap a towel around your head and shower as normal.
When you're done, the steam should created waves/curls, depending on the size of the rollers. Then just use some setting spray to hold the wave/curl.

i read somewhere that if you take a small spray bottle of water and put some sea salt in it and spray it on your hair when it's wet, you'll get waves and you'll look like you came from the beach if you let it dry like that.

if you want it slightly wavy, put it in loose, not tight, braids. sleep on it.

wash your hair at night, then either braid it or twirl it up in a bun and sleep on it. in the morning when it's dry, undo it...you may need to spritz it a bit with water in case there are any weird bumbs (it happens), but it works well. maybe use some mousse or gel to hold the wave.
the bun works better for a messy, wavy look...the braid may look a little too "done".

bumble and bumble makes this stuff called surf spray, john frieda makes one called ocean waves, if you spray something like that in your hair and then take it in a couple sections, twist it around, bobby pin it and let it sit for awhile and then take it out. don't brush just sort of arrange it and finger comb it with your hands, you should get the look you're going for.

Aussie's new "Catch the Wave" hair products line should work. I use Aussie hair products now and they are great - my favorite! They can get pricey so go to Target or a store like that where they sell the products for less if you want a bargain. They will add volume and moviement to you hair to get the messy surfer look you want. They have different products that do different things so if you are interested you can read up on that at their website. Their Sprunch Spray holds waves in place and it's fun to try new hairstyles!

i saw this on E yesterday and i wrote it down! you need a spray bottle,1 tsp medium coarse salt, a squirt of conditioner, and 2 oz of boiled water. you shake it up in a spray bottle and spray it in your hair and scrunch it up and twist your hair and when it dries style it however you want. hopes this works for you!
