How do you get defined waves/curls out of straight hair?

My hair is straight (well for the most part lol)

and i hate having to curl my hair for hours to get curls or waves

I've tried scrunching my hair and using a diffuser and sleeping on it slightly damp and all of that but my hair just ends up looking like a frizzy mane not defined curls

does anyone know any tips or a different way to get defined curls without taking hours??? (if you know how to get curls too that would be okay it doesn't have to be waves)

you have 2 choices get a perm and when they roll it use the purple rods and put alot of hair on them and make sure they rinse the solution good and the neutralizer out real good or you can pin curl them at night use alot of hair in each curl make sure your hair is wet and when you get up the next am take it down and just shake your head and there you are curls

i have super straight hair %26amp; when i curl it looks werid.

what i do is i french braid my hair pretty tightly before i go to sleep. put some anti-friz product in your hair. in the morning, your hair will be wavy. it won't give you curls, like ringlets though. for ringlet-like-curls, i put my hair up after a shower. i gather it into a ponytail, pull the hair through once, twist the hair tie, pull the hair through 3/4 of the way (so it forms a loop) and twist the hair tie again, then i pull the loop halfway so it makes a messy bun. when i take it out after my hair dries, my hair is curly!

after you take out the braids or bun, you can use some hairspray to try and keep the waves in place. good luck!

you should use Paul Mitchell mousee. It works on my cousins hair and her hair is dead straight lol. This works really well ans smells good too!! Good luck
