Is there any way to get straight hair without using a flat iron?

I've been straightening my hair almost daily for close to 5 years. Obviously, this isn't good for your hair but I use Matrix brand products so my hair won't get damaged. My problem is that my hair is long and it takes a long time to straighten it. Is there any way to make my hair straight (not necessarily stick straight) without a flat iron? I've heard that there are products out there but are they any good?

And to kill two birds with one stone, I'm thinking of cutting my hair a little shorter. What do you think of this cut?

No amount of product for straight hair will actually straighten your hair. Serums, balms and straightening creams are designed to facilitate straightening so that it is smoother and less frizzy. They don't actually make your hair straight. They just work by relaxing your hair so that when you straighten your hair it is easier.

Use a straightening balm when your hair is wet and blow dry your hair directing the air flow down. Use a paddle brush for best results, and straighten.

An alternative is to have your hair chemically straightened. But if you have been straightening your hair for 5 years your hair s unlikely to be in any state for a chemical treatment.

Or, learn to live with your natural hair! Sleep in rollers, wear your hair up or just go natural! Straight hair everyday is SO boring!

blow dry ur hair straight .... unless u have super curly hair, then it doesn't work as well

Nice cut.

Blow dry then large/jumbo curling iron will straighten out the hair. Hold with a spritz gel.

Have you tried using a straightening serum, blow dryer and round brush? That should help to straighten it a bit, if not completely. If it's not as straight as you prefer, touch it up a bit with the flat iron?
