Whats a safe way to make straight hair wavy?

Unfortunately i have stick-straight hair naturally, and i really would love to have loose wavy hair without getting a perm or some other form of damaging chemicals. Any suggestions?

what they used to call them. Ask your grandmother. (: You could blow dry your hair just damp, make the pin curls, give them a light mist of hair spray, and do your make up. In about ten minutes, you should have nice soft waves. Experiment a little to see how much curl you want.

scrunch it when its wet...then when its cruly or wavy spry it with hairspry!!
