What to do with poofy straight hair?

I have straight, poofy, dry hair that never behaves.

I've tried growing it out, and it just gets really poofy and in the way. Styling it is really not an option because it doesn't behave at all. When i cut it short, on the other hand, many of the hairs stick straight up. It probably sticks up because i let it air dry, but i dont want to blow dry my hair...

I use Pantene Pro-V 2 in 1, and it doesn't seem to help much.

Here are some pictures of what it currently looks like.

What should i use on my hair, and how should i cut it?

I think you need a smoothing serum. Try that. It is easy to use, just work it into towel dried hair. Also you could try using a little bit of mousse. Good luck!

You just need to use a little gel. Try to find one that will not leave your hair sticky. Put a dime sized amount on your hands and rub it in your hair. It will give it a little more definition and not leave it "poofy."

Straighten it to flatten it out. My hair has a poof and straightening works for me.
