Ive got my summer ball next week and my hair is usually quite straight i want to curl it for the ball only problem is it never stays curly it always just ends up frizzy was wondering what will keep it nice and curly thanks v much x

I have THE straightest hair.....it drives me crazy!

I finally just got a perm, now I put tons of gel in it and scrunch and let it air dry. But that's not the look you're after for a ball, I suppose.

For my wedding last summer, I had tons of curls. I paid attention to what my stylist did and now I am somewhat able to mimic on a fairly regular basis.

For every single section of hair, she sprayed a ton of super heavy duty hair spray on it. Both top and bottom, roots to ends. Then rolled it with either the curling iron or hot roller. The trick is to make sure the thing is really really really hot, and the hair spray is still sorta wet on your hair. She'd take the curling iron or roller out but keep the curl rolled up and pin it in place. Do that all over and then at the very last second, on your way out the door, take the pins out and shake your head to loosen the curls. Don't comb through or anything. And probably one more shot of hairspray all over to hold.

Don't go near any open flames during the evening! :)

I've been straightening my curly hair for years, why would you want to curl your beautiful straight hair!! Ahh!!

Anyway, just kiddin' ya. Use hot rollers to set your hair into big beautiful waves, which are very stylish right now. When you take the rollers out, fluff it with your fingers but don't use a comb or brush. Then use a good hairspray to hold it. I recommend Bed Head hairspray in the big silver can. I think it's called Hard Head.

get a perm. i've permed my hair and it's fab! to keep frizz away, after washing your hair, apply styling cream on towel-dried hair. when your hair dries, you'll get natural-looking curls without the frizz! that's what i'm doing everyday.

Try using a frizz reducing serum to cut out the frizzies. I like John Frieda's Frizz-Ease. Apply to just out of the shower wet hair and comb through. Use sparingly at the roots to avoid greasiness and never towel dry - it promotes frizziness. The product may also help your hair hold curl better.
