Straightneing my hair? It get's staticy and doesnt stay straight for long.?

So i got a new straightner for christmas, and when i straightner my hair is fine, but the it get's really staticy and it never stays straight? I dont know what to do to have the perfectly straight hair. My hair is thick also. Even any random day my hair is staticy, how can i stop this. And have nice pin straight hair. p.s my straightner isnt no cheap one either

During and After Straightning I use Aussie Humidity Spray. I use it when there is static in my hair after i brush it and so my hair doesn't become wavy and messy. Works really good!

Pick up Sebastian Shaper Plus Touchable Extra Hold Hairspray. It holds it, reduces frizz and flyaways, but still lets your hair move and breath. SUPER SILKY!

Could be because of bad weather on some days... but what kind of straightener do you have? I have Hot Tools, and it's a big plate, and it works wonders for me.

Try blow drying your hair with a regular blow dryer, and then straightening it. I find it easiest when it's done that way, and you'll probably get the best results.

well, i think you need to grease you hair, with hair cream, but dont use any type of hair cream use the ones you can use when straighting you hair

I have thick, curley hair and also have this problem. I use products that I spray on my hair before I straighten it. You'd be amazed, they help A LOT.

Cibu Sanshini is what I use, and its AMAZING! This will cost you around 18$ a bottle.

On the cheaper side, Garnier Fructis has the 'Sleek and Shine' system that has anti-humidity smoothing milk and leave in conditioner. I have these, and they work well, too!

try frizz serums, they sell them at alot of place one of the ones that pops into my mind is bed bath and beyond. They have tem next to the gells, liquid and gell type. Use it before your irning and after, depends on the bottle. FRIZZ SERUM. garnier fructise has one but he problem with brand products is that when they test them, the girl uses shampoos etc. of the same brand, so its kind of different.

Try getting Dove Smooth and soft anti-frizz cream. Put just enough to go around for all your hair on after you straiten it. If that doesn't work trade it in for a CHI

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

Static thrives in dryness!

Just like your skin gets dried out in the winter months, so does the hair. We put lotions on our skin to keep it moist, and we neglect our hair. Hydrating the hair with hydrating shampoo and conditions in the winter months will help. Also, intensive conditioner treatments once a week for extra moisture will help even more to keep the static away. Don't use regular hair spray during the winter months, instead use a finishing balm lotion or a spay gel.

For a quick solution- take a dryer sheet, and "ever so lightly stroke it on your hair", it will help keep the static out.

(Also, remember to drink plenty of water/liquids during the winter months to keep yourself hydrated)

Happy hair is hydrated hair!

try the Sedu straightener at folica.com.

it's on sale right now, and it wont make your hair statickey...I'm completely in love with this straightener. Also try Samy smooth laminating hair polish. It coats your hair with a little silicone to keep it shiny and smooth, its not greasy or anything and that will help with the static if you dont want to buy a new straightener.

Wow... Your straightener might not be cheap, but your education (or lack of) definitely was.
