Why do Asians have such straight hair?

Why do Asians have such straight hair? Is it in their genetics, or do they ALL use something I've never heard of. Their hair's consistancy seems identical (or all of my friends at least).

most asians do because the structure of their hair is different from white people, black people...etc. It's more rounded, which causes it to appear more straight.

However, I personally don't have really straight hair. I used to have like super straight hair but now I have like slightly wavy hair(kinda in a messy-but-not-neglected way except for the frizz). I don't know why that is, although it might be my haircut or the way i tie my hair.

some of my friends used to straighten their hair for a sleek look but we all thought it look to "flat" so nobody does it anymore. normally when someone(asian) straighten their hair, it kind of looks thin, flat and it seems to stick to their head or something. lol

A lot of Asian's get their hair Chemically Straightened though. They put Chemicals on their hair and it straightens it and stays that way for about a year. It's pretty much like a perm, except it makes your hair straight instead of curly.

I am Asian and yes, I do have extremely but naturally straight hair. And no, I do not use any products or do straightening. Most Asian people do have straight hair, but there are a lot of Asians DO have wavy, frizzy or curly hair, but most of my friends either straighten it or perm it.

It is genetics...and it really DOES look identical sometimes but I like my hair because it's low maintinance and I never have "bad hair days" since it looks the same all the time and I don't have to worry about straightening or using weird products; I just shampoo and use conditioner once in a while.

But sometimes Asian people hate the fact that their hair all looks similar, which is probably why so many dye it.

Their hair folicles are round.....Flat folicles produce curly hair.
